Eden Prairie School District is seeking applicants for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Special Education Paraprofessional position at our Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion School. The purpose of this role is to assist the special needs student with mobility, self-care, communication, and social interaction needs to maximize participation in classroom activities. Eden Prairie is a school district with over 1,400 employees serving approximately 9,000 students. The district is recognized for its quality initiatives and its leadership in educational programming.
Assignment details:
- 5 hours per day, 9:10 a.m. to 2:40 p.m.; 5 days per week
Position requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Completed at least 60 credits at an institution of higher education, obtained an associate’s or higher degree or met a rigorous standard of quality (Passing the ParaPro exam), and can demonstrate knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing and math.
- Basic child development educational background or knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated communication skills.
- Patience and flexibility.
- Able to problem solve, ability to maintain confidentiality, sensitivity to the needs of special needs children.
- Effective interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and basic computer proficiency.
- Pass pre-work screen to determine essential physical requirements.
Position reports to: Principal
Salary: $17.72 per hour
